Performance Objectives for Jira Now Runs on Atlassian

We’re excited to announce that the Performance Objectives app for Jira Cloud has successfully migrated from Connect to Forge and now officially Runs on Atlassian. This transition marks an important milestone for us – delivering stronger alignment with Atlassian’s cloud infrastructure, improved data governance, and deeper transparency into how app data is hosted and handled.

Forge is Atlassian’s cloud app development platform designed for building, hosting, and running secure, reliable, and scalable apps within the Atlassian ecosystem. It replaces much of the infrastructure burden from developers by providing built-in hosting, authentication, storage, and lifecycle management. This approach ensures consistent security, performance, and compliance standards for apps, while giving customers greater trust and predictability when adopting Marketplace solutions.

While all Runs on Atlassian apps are built on Forge, an app only receives this badge if it meets strict data control requirements. These requirements are automatically checked and continuously monitored by Atlassian and include:

• The app is hosted on Atlassian infrastructure.

• Data is contained within the Atlassian infrastructure, unless an exception is made by the customer.

• The app provides data residency in the same region as the host Atlassian product (e.g., Jira).

• Customers are in control of data egress (such as analytics and logs) and can block it at any time.

This move ensures that Performance Objectives app operates within the same trusted environment as Jira Cloud itself.

• For admins, this improves efficiency by providing a standardized, Atlassian-hosted environment that reduces risk and simplifies security reviews.

• For users, it provides confidence that app data data remains within a controlled and verified environment trusted by their organization.

• For teams evaluating reporting apps on the Atlassian Marketplace, the Runs on Atlassian badge removes uncertainty around security and data controls, allowing them to focus on comparing app capabilities, features, and fit for use.

Update Required to 4.14.0 or Later

A site or organization administrator needs to update the app by going to Atlassian Administration → Apps → Connected apps. Locate the Performance Objectives app and select Update to update the app to the latest version and benefit from the Forge migration improvements.
